materials: Ring - sterling silver. Earrings - nickel and sterling silver earring wire.
This set was designed with paper pinwheels in mind. The pinwheel starts as a square sheet and is cut along diagonals and curved over itself. The pinwheel on the ring has a drilled hole in the center with a post through it, allowing it to spin atop the ring band. The fine silver that arises at the surface of sterling was not polished off the ring, to compliment and contrast the oxidation of the nickel of the earrings. However, the backs of the earrings were polished so that the shiny surface that gets curved over contrasts with the oxidation as well.
